New World Symphony: To much fanfare, the New World Center opened in January 2011, with the architectural abuzz about its Frank Gehry design. Classical music enthusiasts rejoice with such a distinctive venue to enjoy their favorites from the renowned New World Symphony. While its primary purpose is to act as campus and performance hall for the best and brightest instrumentalists from around the nation and world, the New World Center has served many purposes for the arts community. The adjoining park hosts free movie screenings on Wednesday evenings and Wallcasts on select Saturdays, as well as plays host to an array of mini-concerts, “The Pulse: Symphony After Dark” series which blends electronic music with orchestral music, concerts for kids, visiting conductors and more.
Bass Museum of Art: Located across the street from The Setai, the Bass Museum is the only fine art museum on Miami Beach and connects historical collections with contemporary art. In addition to world-renowned temporary exhibits that pass through its doors, the Bass Museum features an impressive permanent collection of Antiquities, Renaissance and Baroque art exhibitions, as well as educational and scholarship programs. The museum creates community through collaborative cultural programming at its unique Miami Beach location. A docent-led tour of the museum and current exhibitions is also available every Saturday at 2pm.
The Adrienne Arsht Center: As a focal point of Greater Miami-Dade County’s arts explosion, the Adrienne Arsht Center enlightens, educates and entertains the community through transformational arts and cultural experiences. The center, which is made up of two gorgeous theaters: Ziff Ballet Opera House and Knight Concert Hall, embraces excellence, celebrates differences, renews the spirit and engages diverse communities through the power of the performing arts.
